Bio
As a Portfolio Analyst, Joe is responsible for investment research and the implementation of investment strategy across client portfolios. He evaluates new investment opportunities, contributes to the development and management of internal funds, and helps translate research into disciplined portfolio action.
Prior to joining Maslow, Joe worked across several venture-backed startups in roles spanning data science, operations, and client consulting. That experience sharpened his analytical skillset and gave him exposure to fast-moving, high-growth environments. Seeking work that was more long-term, rigorous, and mission-driven, he transitioned into wealth management.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a graduate degree in data science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In his spare time, Joe enjoys cooking and playing tennis.
Every ounce of intensity in the investment process takes worry off of our clients’ shoulders. That intensity applies to all parts of our diligence process, including (especially) the most tedious, specific, esoteric details that clients never hear about.
Q&A
My parents both grew up in the Lebanese Civil War before starting their medical careers in the US. Seeing how they care for patients taught me what it means to serve others, and seeing their financial mistakes helped me appreciate how much of an impact we can have for our clients. So I see them in my own work, both in how I carry myself in service of clients, and in the lives of our clients trying to navigate their own financial lives.
“Use the whole animal.” Every piece of work is not only an opportunity to create and deliver value, but to learn more about our industry, our business, our clients, and ourselves. Working to squeeze every drop of learning out of every experience compounds over time and makes the work both more effective and more enjoyable.
Cooking Lebanese food. Cooking for others is a competitive sport in our culture and I’d love to rise in the extended family power rankings.
